Utah Republican Chairman James Evans said he will run for a third term as head of the state party. Evans said he wants a chance to finish what he has started.

“We have navigated the party through a very difficult time and have been very successful,” Evans said.

He points to the success the party enjoyed during the 2014 and 2016 electoral cycles. Evans said Republicans enjoy near historic numbers in the Utah State Legislature, controlling every seat outside of Salt Lake County.
